Final week at Unstampabelles.

Final week at Unstampabelles and final week of 2016!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.

This is a quick post. I'm scheduling it as I am away for Christmas at the other end of the island.

This is my 'Flickering Lights' inspiration for you.

I started with gold mirri card for the background layer. The image is a kit (can't remember the designer sorry) A friend kindly sent it to me eons ago. It was too beautiful too use lol!! Crafters will know what I mean. However I finally took the plunge and used it to create a Christmas card for my Grand Daughter. The 'fairy' image is decoupaged. I added sequins to the tree to add sparkle. Also a wooden star top right corner to finish. The sentiment was part of the kit too.

There is still time to enter this challenge. Maybe start making a very early Christmas card to share with us!!

The prize is a voucher valued at $20 Australian for a craft shop of your choice.

I hope 2017 will be a Peaceful and Healthy year for you and your family. I look forward to visiting you all soon. Happy New Year everyone!!!!

Midway at Unstampabelles

The year is nearly over and we are midway through our challenge at Unstampabelles. Susan has asked us to showcase our creations that include a 'Flickering Light' This can be a candle holder, card anything really as long as you don't use stamps.

This is my inspiration for you. I was commissioned to make this card for a customer to send to her Uncle in Denmark. So I went for a red and white theme, the national colours of Denmark.

My followers will know that I like unusual folds and this is another. The main card is white card stock folded so that the centre pops out. I embossed it with the 'tied together' embossing folder. I found the lantern image in my stash and die cut it with a scalloped oval die. This was placed on a matt of plain white card which I lifted up with 3D tape. The red stripes on the side panels are red ribbon with sparkly snowflakes. I added some wooden red snowflakes to the ribbon and finished the card with red gems added to the corners of the centre panel.

I also added the same ribbon to the side back panels and placed a sentiment in the centre. The sentiment is from a CD but I can't remember which one sorry....smacked hands!! So we have a flickering light on the front and back of this card!!

I hope I've inspired you to pop over to Unstampabelles. Link in sidebar. As usual there's a prize on offer from Susan. This time it's a ......

.........$20 (Australian|) gift voucher from a  craft shop of your choice.......
How generous is that!!!

Have a great week and keep cool if you're in sunnier climes and wrap up warm if you're shivering in the Northern Hemisphere!!! I'm in the middle and I'm wrapped up warm!!

'Twas the Night before Christmas' at CD Sunday

Sorry this is late I thought I'd scheduled this but it was still in draft duh! Think this Christmas melarky is getting to me this year!!

This is our final challenge of the year at CD Sunday and appropriately Jocelyn has chosen ' 'Twas the Night before Christmas'. The 'Sparkle and Shine' results are up on the blog now. These were chosen by me and I had some great entries to chose from....clever crafters.

For your inspiration this time I chose to play with a new CD to me Raymond Briggs ' Father Christmas ' from Crafter Companion.

I began with A4 white card stock and ran the front through a large dotty embossing folder. I printed off the Father Christmas image and off set it over some midnight blue card stock. The little verse is also from the CD .

'The stockings
are hung by
the chimney
with care. In
hopes that
St. Nick
would soon
be there.'

The greeting is also from the CD. I hung some string and pegged mini stockings across one corner. Finally I added stars to the midnight blue card. Eh Voila!

I would like to wish all our followers a very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful Healthy 2017.

Have fun!!

'Get your Christmas on!' with the Dragonflies

Our final challenge of the year for Crafting with Dragonflies is ........'Get Your Christmas On!'. So we are looking for all things Christmassy on your cards. Last time it was 'Whatever the Weather' and it's my turn to choose the winner. We had some great entries so choosing my Top Three will be challenging. The results will be on the blog next weekend.

Here is my inspiration for you this time.

I made the box style card shape that I had used earlier in the month for an Ooh La La challenge. I began with two pieces of red card stock. The front layer was covered with sparkly green foam. This was very light weight so ideal for card making. The image on the inner 'box' was from an Ooh La La CD 'Xmas Presence' I added red square gems along the top and bottom of the image.

I added a tag shape with sentiment to the front of the card.
To finish I die cut a border from the same green sparkly foam and placed it along the edge of the back section.

I'm sure you are all busy making those Christmas cards. So no excuses show us one of your makes and add it to the challenge blog at Crafting with Dragonflies (link in sidebar).

I will take this opportunity to with you all a very Merry Christmas and a Peaceful, Healthy New Year from everyone on the Dragonfly team.

Have a fun week!!

Unstampabelles December challenge

Sorry I'm a wee bit late with this post but I have just returned home after a fab weekend celebrating Christmas early at a Turkey and Tinsel event!!! Great fun, great food and even better company. So I am really in the festive spirit and what better way to tell you about our final challenge of the year at Unstampabelles.

We are asking you this month to think of candles and create Flickering Lights. The twist is to have a candle in the item made.

As usual there is a fab prize. This time Susan is donating a..........

$20 (Australian) Gift Voucher for a shop of your choice!!

My inspiration fro you is a Christmas table centre.

I began with bamboo sticks joined together to form a star shape. I sprayed the sticks with gold but on reflection think I should have used silver as the gold on the wood didn't really show up.

I then used two different  tea light/mini candle holders as containers.....six in total. In each one a put a small 'oasis' and added real pine sprigs and mini pine cones, from my garden and red and gold plastic berries,  which I got from flower accessories department in a bargain store. I also added gold and red mini baubles from my Christmas decorations stash. These were then placed around the bamboo star. A church pillar candle was then put in the centre which I had covered in red gem stone mesh ribbon.

Finally I added a string of tiny lights around the whole structure. I thought that I had bought white ones but when I switched them on they were BLUE!!!  (Note to self  'Always read the label with your glasses on!!)

I hope you enjoy this challenge as much as I have. Pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) to see more inspiring 'flickering lights'.
Have fun!!!

Unstampabelles final week

This post is late going up sorry....thought I'd scheduled it but obviously I didn't.....more senior moments coming thick and fast!!

The challenge at Unstampabelles is to use a resist for your creation. This is my inspiration for you.

I used an embossing folder for the poinsettia and holly border on white card. I cheated really but as Susan says  'I resisted adding ink to my folder!!'  ....so this counts!!! I then inked the embossed corners and border. The sentiment is a die cut from red card stock and added to the centre.

There haven't been many entries this time so if you enter you'll be in with a good chance of winning this yummy prize. (link to Unstampabelles challenge in sidebar)

Have fun and I hope you can find time to join us.

'I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas'

Where do the days go I thought I had another week before this posting......hence the reason it's late going up!!!

Before I tell you about our next challenge at CD Sunday I have some news.

'We are pleased to announce that Sharon Duncan has kindly offered an extra prize to our  followers by offering a 25% discount until Christmas using the code MERRY16.  This is very generous of Sharon who has always been a great supporter of CD Sunday. ' Click here sharonduncan for her site.

Meg has chosen her Top Three and the results are on the blog (link in sidebar) I will be browsing through your contributions to my 'Sparkle and Shine' challenge and the Top Three will be announced in two weeks.

Now on to this fortnights' challenge chosen by Margaret, 'I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas'. So if you are still crafting away merrily with Christmas cards here is your chance to combine our challenge with your Christmas card making.

My inspiration for you is a lovely scene from Joanne Sheen's 'Victorian Christmas Cards' This is one of my newer CDs which I'm using for the first time this Christmas.

The background paper, image and other elements are all on the CD. I am loving reindeers on Christmas cards this year and of course the blue tones are also a favourite. I hope I've inspired you. For more ideas pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar) and take a peep at what the rest of the team have created. Don't forget to visit them too and give them some love!!

Have a fun week and any comments you leave are read and appreciated. Thank you!!

'Whatever the Weather!!'

Time for a new card challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. The last challenge was 'White on White' and you created  some fabulous cards. The Top Three will be up next weekend  (link to Dragonflies in side bar)

This time Susan has chosen the theme 'Whatever the Weather'. Brits always talk about the weather don't they? Here in Cyprus the Cypriots do too......well to us at least....think they know us so well!! We are experiencing unusual weather for this time of the year. It has usually stated cooling down by now but it's still warm and sunny. Climate change no doubt!! It is forecast to change by mid week and we can expect rain, which is needed here as the dams are so low!! But I don't do cold so I'm happy with how it is at the moment.

These photos were taken mid week from the balcony of the hotel we were staying in for my birthday in Paphos. As you can see there are still people enjoying the sunshine by the pool and at the small sandy beach. Look at that clear blue sky!!! Perfect!!!

This is my inspiration for you this time.

The card is a square card covered with 6 x 6 paper from a pad. I thought the 'cats and dogs with umbrellas and rain' were so cute. The rest of the card is made up with images from an Ooh La La CD 'Say it with Words'. There are some great sayings on this CD.....all very inspirational. This one says

'Without the rain there would never be Rainbows'

Thought provoking but so true!!

I hope I've got you thinking of your take on the theme. There are more inspiring cards for you to browse on the challenge blog. Just click on the DT's names to take you too their blogs and give them some love.

Thank you for popping by today and any comments are always appreciated by lovely followers.

Have fun!!!

'Birthday Celebrations' at Ooh La La

Where has this year gone? Doesn't time fly......did the time fly when we were younger I wonder? So long ago I can't remember!! It's time for our next challenge at Ooh La La. We had some fabulous creations for the 'Vintage' challenge last time. The winners are on the blog now (link in sidebar)

It's my turn to choose the theme and, as it's my birthday tomorrow, I have chosen 'Birthday Celebrations, as it seemed appropriate.

Here is my inspiration for you.

As you can see this is a different fold. Not unusual for me as I love trying out new folds. I really loved the finished result and it was so easy to make. I started with two pieces of white card stock. The inner portion was folded with a valley, mountain, valley fold to create the box effect.

The designer paper to cover it was from 'Fleur d' Imagination', by Ooh La La of course.

The image is also from the same CD.. The edging is silver card using a die I borrowed from a friend ( sorry can't remember the name)

The Greeting and butterfly on front are also Ooh La La images.

I hope you've been inspired to join in. An easy make this time and it will give you a well earned break from Christmas cards. I'm sure like me you're 'snowed under' with Christmas (no pun intended). It's the same every year for crafters . Thank goodness it's only once a year!! Just like birthday celebrations!!

Have a fun week and I look forward to visiting your blogs soon. Don't forget there's always a prize on offer from   .ooh-la-la-creations . It's always worth a visit to the shop as they have freebies on there too!!

See you soon.

'Sparkle and Shine'

It's time to 'Sparkle and Shine' at CD Sunday. It's my turn to choose the challenge theme at CD Sunday. I decided the title was appropriate for this time of the year as you , no doubt like me, are covered in sparkle with all those Christmas makes. The glitter gets everywhere doesn't it!!

We had some great jolly Santa creations last time and deciding on a winner will be difficult. What has been decided though are the two winners of our sponsored Sharon Duncan challenge. So to see if the lucky person is you, off you pop to take a peak at the challenge blog (link in sidebar)

Now back to my inspiration for you.

No matter how we try photographing shiny cards never seems to work do they.....I know I'm not alone. But 'Sparkle and Shine' this card does I can assure you!!!
The CD used is from Krafty Hands,  'Holly and Snowflake'.

I began with a square blank card then matted gold shiny mirri card with red card stock on top. The two tags are made using the images of Holly and Snowflake from the CD. Adding stickles Crystal glitter to each image to make them sparkle. I joined them together with some sparkling gold gem string. The 'prickly' holly spray is from my flower arranging box.....comes in handy at Christmas!! Finally I added gold shiny snowflakes from my peel offs stash to finish.

I hope you are inspired to join in. There are more yummy examples on the challenge blog from the design team. I look forward to visiting you soon to see how much 'Sparkle and Shine' you can get on your card and least of all on yourself!!!

Have a great crafty week and keep on crafting those Christmas makes....they've got to be done!!
Have fun!!

'White on white'

It's time for our next challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. This time it is a lovely theme 'White on white' We had some pretty cards last with our 'Spots and Stripes challenge and the winners will be on the challenge blog next weekend.

This is my inspiration for you.

This can was created using a new embossing folder that a crafty friend here in Paphos brought along one afternoon to my home to 'play' with. I ran two pieces of card through the machine and then decided instead of making two cards I'd make one larger card by placing them one under the other. The join was hidden with some narrow white ribbon. So this was my base, which I  then added to some folded A4 white card. She had also brought along some holly leaf dies and after 'playing' around with them I created a ' faux flower' which I placed in the centre of the card with a spray of leaves . The 'Happy Christmas' sentiment was also die cut from white card. Finally I added a gem to the centre of the ' faux flower'.

So a great afternoon 'playing and creating' with some new dies which resulted in a 'White on white' card for our challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies.

I hope I've inspired you and you'll be tempted to pop over to the challenge blog (link in sidebar). There are more lovely cards there from my teamies and also further details of the challenge. This is a card only challenge.

Have a lovely weekend and I hope the weather is being as kind to you as it is to us here in Cyprus.

Ooh La La goes 'Vintage'

It's time for another challenge at Ooh La La. This time the theme has been chosen by our lovely leader Pauline....it's 'Vintage'. We had some cute creations last time for our 'Tiny Tots' challenge. The results are in so pop over to the challenge blog to see if you're a winner (link in sidebar)

This is my inspiration for you.

I have used the Paula Oakley collection to make this vintage style Christmas card. You can find this CD in the Ooh La La shop ooh-la-la-creations

I went with traditional colours of red and green. Beginning with a square green card blank. Then I matted it with red card stock and rounded the corners with a Tonic corner punch. The rest of the card was created with images and background papers from the CD. Finally I placed a red ribbon strip along the bottom. ( I think there may even be vintage port in that wine glass!! )

I hope I've inspired you to get creating. It doesn't have to be Vintage Christmas card it could be for any occasion. There are some fab examples on the challenge blog that my teamies have created.

There's always a prize for the winner so pop over to the challenge blog now (link in sidebar) to check out the details to enter.

Have a crafty week and I look forward to visiting your blogs soon.

Thank you for any comments made. They are always read and appreciated.

Have fun!!

'Resistance' at Unstampabelles!!

It's time for this month's challenge at Unstampabelles. This time we would like to see some 'Resistance' with  the optional twist of .....explain your method of resistance. We had lots of great entries for last month's challenge 'out of your Comfort Zone' and the winners will be coming up on the challenge blog shortly.

I haven't tried any resistance work so this was a bit like last time's challenge....out of my comfort zone!! But I do like a challenge so eventually with a little, well a lot really, of great ideas from Susan, our inspirational leader I took the plunge. Here is the result.

I began with some art paper which was bonded. Then using some white oil pastels  I scribbled over it. Then I spray it with three different colour of fabric paint and then brushed it lightly with a fan paint brush.

oil pastels

The three colours of spray paint I used.

This was the result. It did dry very quickly which was great as once I get going I like to just get on with the idea. Mainly because if not I'd forget what I'd planned!! Old age is a bummer!! As you can see it did bend a little but with some gentle persuasion it soon became flat enough to work with. I then embossed it with an embossing folder.
I had recently cut out some fancy frames so I played around with those til I found one in a pinky peach colour which I thought looked OK with these colours. I placed it over the background and then on to A4 white card stock, landscape orientation.

I needed a 'Thank You card' so again looking through my snippets I found some green in a similar shade to the background. I cut it out with a die and placed it on the card but it just blended in to the background......not good! So I went looking for a colour similar to the frame. Finding the right shade took me an age I might tell you!! Eventually I found a piece and cut this out placing it on top of the green from earlier to create a shadow effect. Finally some gems were added..... Et Voila finished!!

So thinking caps on and let's see what you come up with. These are some of Susan's ideas for resist work.

OK Resistance - THINK BACKGROUNDS FIRST: there are many ways to get a resist effect: for example, waxy crayons and paint or inks on a background; candle used to draw or through a stencil will give a similar effect; embossing and paint or ink - you can do this through a stencil or draw your own lines to be embossed; colourless blender with alcohol inks can create a resist; bleach stamping can be turned around and you can draw and paint and then use bleach or water to remove colour. sprays with a negative stencil is a type of resist; masking fluid splattered or painted on will give a great resist for inks and watercolour paints. Any background papers can then be die cut and used as needed for embellies etc. You can use an embossing folder smeared with Versacolour ink and then with brush with chalks or pearls; or emboss with embossing powder and then paint or ink over it.

So lots of great ideas to get your imagination going. As usual there's a great prize on offer donated by Susan.

It's a fab die and embossing folder. Now who wouldn't want to win these!! So generous!

Thank you all for visiting and I hope I've at least inspired you to pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) to see what the rest of the team have created. Now I know can't Resist!!!

Your comments are always appreciated. Thank You!

'Father Christmas' at CD Sunday!!!

It's time for our next challenge at CD Sunday. Where do the weeks go? I hope you remembered to change your clocks. We in Cyprus put them back one hour same as UK but for reasons only known to the North of Cyprus where the Turkish Cypriots live they are not changing their clocks. So on our small island we will now have two different time zones!!! Unbelievable and crazy!!! Enough said now on to our challenge.

Meg has chosen the theme and wants you to show us this jolly Santas that are on your CDs. I love to see a happy jolly Father Christmas on Christmas cards. So I'm looking forward to seeing your creations. Here is my inspiration for you.

I have a new CD Raymond Briggs' Father Christmas. Isn't he super, looking happy with his pets around him. This was a simple make with A4 card folded to make and A5 card. I embossed it with the dotty folder. Then I printed off the image and sentiment. I have added a sprig of plastic holly to finish. (This was hiding in my flower arranging box!!!) The berries are punched out red circles .

I hope you find time to pop over to CD Sunday and check out the rest of the teams creations. They'll put a smile on your face....all those cheery Santas. We are busy selecting the winners of the 'Paws' challenge and the results will be up in two weeks.

Don't forget to use something from a CD and tell us which CD you've used to be in with the chance of a prize. If you don't use CDs that's ok we would still like to see your creations.

Have a good week and your comments are always appreciated.

'Spots and Stripes'

It's time for another card challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. The theme this time has been chosen by our lovely Helen, 'Spots and Stripes'. So time to maybe search through your snippets box or maybe like me you have an image with both on. Here is my inspiration for you.

I found this decoupage sheet on my PC. I can't remember when or where I got it from but it matched the theme perfectly and I needed a New Baby card so how lucky was I! The photo is a bit pale but if you click on it to enlarge it you'll find the spots and stripes on the hood of the pram plus spotted matting paper. I added one layer of decoupage layers to hood and wheels of pram and the sentiment. So not too bulky for posting.....I know the postie doesn't like bulky envelopes grrrr!!

I hope you find a moment to visit Crafting with Dragonflies and see what the rest of my team have created.....you won't be disappointed!!

Thank you for visiting and your sweet comments are always appreciated. Have a lovely weekend.

'Tiny Tots' at OLL

The next challenge at Ooh La La has been chosen by Michelle, 'Tiny Tots'. This is one of my favourites as I love making baby cards.

Last time we asked you for 'Shades of Autumn' and the Top Three winners are now on the OLL challenge blog (link in sidebar)

This is my inspiration for you this time.

I have made an easel card using the CD Paula Oakley Collection . You can find this CD and others at the following link ooh-la-la-creations.

I started with white card stock to make the base of the easel card. Then covered it with two co-ordinating DPs from the CD. I added a layout to the top which was from the quick cards section on the CD. The base was from the decoupage images and I used the largest in the set. You can also find the matching post card and mini notelet and envelope on the CD. I finished it with some pink ribbon and hand-tied bows.

I hope I've inspired you to join us at OLL (link in sidebar). There's more inspiration from the team over there so enjoy visiting.

Have a crafty week and I look forward to visiting you soon. Thank you for stopping by, your comments are always read and appreciated.

#64 'Outside your comfort zone!!!' with the Belles

We are mid way through October and it's tiem for more inspiration for you at Unstampabelles. This time Susan has really challenged the team. She asked us to move out of our comfort zone to create something !!! Mmmmm not good I hear you say BUT good fun once you get started lol!! It took me a while I might tell you. My main aversion is to stamping but as theis Unstampabelles I couldn't do that. So something else that is messy....which I don't like....getting messy that is not making a mess!! So I went with Mixed Media.  This is what I have created to inspire you.

I had a small canvas in the stash which I'd bought a while ago so I began with that. I added decoupage glue over the canvas to seal it. I had also recently bought some spray inks from Lidls which hadn't been opened so I thought I'd play around with these to see what happens. I swirled the colour on to the background with a 'fan' brush. The ink was pearlerised so has a nice sheen to it. The image is some left over Japanese paper that I had for some shabby chic work. This was adhered to the board as was the 'lavender image' which was the same paper type. (like napkin papers) I added a doiley to the corner and then some lace on top of it. I played around with some flowers and leaves from my stash to create a spray for the opposite corner. Then added some pearls to the flowers in the girl's hair to finish. So my interpretation of mixed media which has a messy background and glue was everywhere!!

Please try and move out of your comfort zone join in this fun challenge. The twist is optional and is to use a different edge. There's a yummy prize on offer as usual. This time a great die donated by Susan.

Theres='s more inspiration for you over at the challenge blog 9link in sidebar0 for Unstampabelles. Main rule for this challenge is to follow the theme and don't use stamps in any form digi or otherwise.
I look forward to visiting you and to seeing if you created as much a  mess as I did !! Have fun!!

CD Sunday 'Paws'

Good Morning. Thank you for taking part in our last challenge 'Country Living'. Pamela is busy choosing her winner and it'll be announced in two weeks. Meanwhile the winner of Carol's challenge 'Things with wheels' is on the blog. So pop over when you get time to see if you're a winner ( link in sidebar)

It's time for a new challenge at CD Sunday and this time we have a wonderful sponsor Sharon Duncan. There are two prizes on offer . One is the 'Playful Pups' CD from Sharon Duncan and the second has kindly been donated by our leader Carol. She is offering as DT's second place winner two dies...puppies and kittens. Soooo generous.

Sharon kindly supplied us with some images and papers from the CD 'Playful Pups' which you can find here sharonduncan playful-pups on her web site. The images were great fun to play with and the team have created lots of delightful design to inspire you. Please pop over to CD Sunday and then visit them and give them some love (link in sidebar)

The challenge theme is 'Paws' so lots of scope there as it doesn't have to be just puppy Paws those kitties can come aboard too or anything with Paws it's up to you! Here is my inspiration for you.

A simple square CAS card from me this time. The paw print and checked  background papers are on the CD as is the image and it's pyramage layers.  The sentiment is so cute that I couldn't resist it 'Dogs leave pawprints in our hearts And on our furniture!' I added a diecut 'Happy Birthday' using blue mirri card to finish.

I know we have lots of animal lovers out there in blogland so this challenge will be fun for you. Don't forget to add something from a CD to your creation....doesn't have to be a card.....It can be something quite small but don't forget to tell us which CD you have used as we 're very nosey at CD Sunday! And you may have just inspired someone else to use the CD when they see your wonderful creation. So they need to know too!! There's always a crafty prize on offer for every challenge. So what are you waiting for....dust off those CDs and get creating.

I look forward  to visiting you soon. Thank you for stopping by and your comments are always read and appreciated with love!

'Lets go Floral' with the Dragonflies.

It's time for a new challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies' ....where do the weeks go? Last time the challenge was 'Pinktober' and the Top Three will be announced next Saturday. Here is my inspiration for you this time.

I started with a DL card blank that I'd had in my stash for eons as was the pretty image. I added it to a ribbon strip and made a matching sentiment topper with ribbon bow. It's always good to have some 'Thinking of You' cards in your stock as they can be used for so many different occasions when someone needs a bi of support and love.....this is just one of those cards.

A simple CAS card which I hope has inspired you to take part in out fun challenge. Please pop over to Crafting with Dragonflies (link in sidebar) and take a peep at the lovely creations the rest of the Design Team have made. Don't forget this is a Card only challenge. I look forward to visiting you soon and thank you finding time to say Hi! to me too. Your comments and love are always appreciated.

Ooh La La #215 'Shades of Autumn'

Time for another challenge at Ooh La La. This time it has been chosen by Lynn. We had some fabulous entries for our last challenge, 'Feminine', chosen by Jennifer. Pop over to see if you're a winner (link in sidebar) But first of all here is my inspiration for you for this time's challenge.

I used white A4 card stock folded in two and added the DP. The image, matching background paper and postcard are all on the Paula Oakley CD which you can find here ooh-la-la-creations.. I added a brown ribbon strip from my stash and die cut the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment and added it to the post card.

I hope you find time to visit the rest of the design team and give them some love.

Have a crafty week!!

CD Sunday 'Country Living'

Good Morning crafters. I hope you are having a fun weekend. Here in Cyprus it's still lovely weather but no where near as hot as it's been. Autumn is slowly creeping in.

Over at CD Sunday it's Pamela's first choice of topics and she has gone with 'Country Living'. I'm a country girl at heart so I loved this theme.....hope you do too.

This is my inspiration for you.

The CD image and background papers are Tom Melkos design and project book. This is a fabulous CD and definitely worth investing in crafters. The main card is landscape orientation and I covered it with the co ordinating DP. The image was already matted with  pink so an easy make this one.I finished of with a hand tied pink bow and tiny pearl buckle. Thus giving it an old fashioned chocolate box look!! The sentiment is also from the CD and finishes the card to be used as a New Home celebration

I hope you'll be inspired to join in and support Pamela with her first challenge choice for CD Sunday. The rules are simple.....follow the theme using something in the making from a CD and give credit to the CD designer. It doesn't have to be a card....anything crafty....as long as a CD has been used in the making.

You don't have to use everything from a CD only a snippet  e.g. a sentiment, will be fine as long as
you say which CD it's from. Then you'll be in with a chance of receiving a yummy prize, as there's always a prize on offer donated by the challenge host....this time it's Pamela.

Pop over to CD Sunday (link in sidebar) as the winners are there for Pauline's challenge 'Shades of Autumn'......Good Luck!! Have a fun week!!

'Pinktober' with Dragonflies.

Time for another challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. As it's Breast Cancer awareness month and this charity is close to Hilde's heart we are challenging you to create a card that depicts the Hope, Faith and Courage of the thousands of brave Cancer sufferers and survivors.

This is my inspiration for you.

I began with a square card using white card stock. I covered the background in a deep pink paper that was in my snippets box.  Then a paler piece of pink was embossed and placed across the centre. Now the fun started when I began to create the background for the image.

I went to my snippets folder again and found co ordinating pink papers. Then  I cut them into triangles all the same size. This was done by firstly cutting oblong pieces the same size and then cutting them diagonally. Therefore each triangle was then equal. I took a square piece of card stock and starting at the centre I placed the pink triangles on to this. The triangles do overlapped at the sides and when completed you trim the edges. This makes a 'sunburst' effect.

I then placed it on the prepared card and added a pink gem where the 'points' of the triangles met. I googled images for Cancer awareness and found the one I'm using on the card. This was trimmed and matted with pale pink. Finally I added the pink ribbon bow and another pink gem.

A really fun background to create. I hope you give it a go and support our challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. (link in sidebar) will atke you to more inspiration from the team!

Have fun!!

#214 'Feminine'' with Ooh La La

It's time for our next challenge at Ooh La La. The theme has been chosen by Jennifer. It's a lovely girly one 'Feminine'.

This is my inspiration for you.

I used the Ooh La La CD 'Teentastique' for my DT card.  The image and background papers are all on the CD. I used white card stock to make a square card base and embossed it with a dotty folder in the Cuttle Bug. Then added the designer papers and image. Finally I added a pink ribbon and bow  and a pink gem.

For more inspiration pop over to Ooh La La (link in sidebar). The winner of the last challenge 'Anything Goes' is also there.

Have a crafty week and have fun with your 'Feminine' designs. I look forward to visiting you soon.

Final week with the Belles

Well the weather is definitely 'on the turn' here. This is what normally happens here. One day you are still in the height of Summer then overnight Autumn blows in....literally. We are having cloudy days and rain at night!! Such a change from the long hot Summer we've been enjoying.

The challenge at Unstampabelles is into it's final week and is very apt...#61 'Changing Seasons'. The challenge can be interpreted many ways as 'Seasons' can be defined as Sporting, Weather, Rites of passage, Lifestyle changes New Home, Job, Graduation etc.  This  my inspiration for you.

It's a New Home card for a friend who is moving from a cold climate to somewhere warmer and by the beach!! I thought a beach hut would be apt....hope she appreciates it!!

I began with a landscape DL card. The sky was a cropped photo taken in France last year and I adhered torn sand paper along the bottom for the sand. I had a beach hut template which I fussy cut and paper pieced with striped paper from a paper pad in my stash. The window is silver mirri card outlined with black peel offs The bunting was snipped from some backing paper I also had in one of my paper stacks. The wooden shell and starfish have been longing to be used for eons and I have finally found a 'home' for them! Not sure where the 'New Home' was from but I found it in  my folder of sentiments and I thought the colour matched perfectly.....lucky me eh!! The For Sale sign is hand written on a snippet of white card.

I hope I've inspired you and you'll pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) to see how others have interpreted the challenge. As always there's a yummy prize on offer from Susan. Not many rules for this one except to say that it's NO stamps please digi or otherwise!!

Midway with Unstampabelles

I can't believe we are mid way through September. The Autumnal days are fast approaching here. Although it still feels like Summer as it's so very warm.

There's still time for you to enter the challenge at Unstampabelles. We are asking you to think about changing Seasons but it doesn't have to be weather related. It could be the rites of passage season or sporting seasons.  The twist is to make it male. So a chance to make something for the male in your life....always challenging for us crafters!!

This is my inspiration for you.

It's a Graduation card. The Graduation season is almost at an end here. The students have got their results but in the UK it's usually the Autumn when they get their cap and gown.
The card is A4 folded then I snipped off half of the front to reveal the inside of the card for the verse.. I covered it with spotty background paper (not sure where it was from sorry)Then I added the image. Mounted it on the same paper with the addition of an extra mat of embossed white card. There were more toppers on the sheet so I fussy cut one and placed on the bottom left hand side.

For the inside I added the verse and rolled printer paper into a tiny scroll. Then tied it together with narrow red ribbon.

I hope I've inspired you. Don't forget there's always a great prize on offer. Pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) to see what awaits the lucky crafter!

Have fun!!

'Things with Wheels' at CD Sunday

Good Morning crafters. We are ready for another challenge over at CD Sunday. Last time Pauline asked for 'Autumnal Shades' and this proved to be popular with many of you. She's now got the task of deciding on her Top Three and it won't be easy!!

This times challenge is chosen by our lovely leader Carol. It's 'Things with Wheels'. This is my inspiration for you.

I started with green card stock and made a 8 x 8 card blank. I had a new CD from Joanne Sheen that I was wanting to try out so I browsed through the images and found the perfect one. The CD is 'Victorian Christmas Cards'. I printed off some matching backing paper and added half to the front of the card. Then matted and layered the image on top and placed it to one side. Finally adding the greeting  and some glitter.....which doesn't really show up in the photo.....got to get a better camera!

I hope I've inspired you and if you want to see more yummy creations pop over to CD Sunday (link in side bar) and see what the rest of the team have for you.

I look forward to visiting you soon and don't forget there's always a wee prize on offer for the Winner. Have fun!!

Fairies or Fantasy with the Dragonflies

Good Morning bloggers. It's time for a new challenge at Crafting with Dragonflies. We had some interesting entries last time for Jarka's choice of theme, Music. The Top Three will be posted next week. It's Margaret's turn to choose the theme and she asked us to create a card which depicts either fairies or fantasy!!

This is my inspiration for you.

It's an On The Shelf card from CUP. A fairy elf!!

How cute is she?

If you haven't made an On the Shelf card before I can tell you that they are so easy to make and best of all for me you can get away without doing the dreaded inserts. Inserts are the bane of my life especially at Christmas. I need a new system for doing them I think. It's not the printing that's gets me its sizing them up to put them into the cards. They always need a bit of trimming to get them exact grrrr not a fave can you tell!!!

Anyway I digress, back to the challenge. You can pop over for more inspiration from the design team (link in sidebar). The challenge is open for two weeks. There are not many rules but it is a cards only challenge.

Have fun and I look forward to seeing all those lovely fairy or fantasy cards.

#213 'Anything Goes'

Good Morning crafters. It's time for a new challenge at Ooh La La. This time Janice has chosen a very popular theme' Anything Goes'. It's a while since we had this one!! Debbie selected 'Girlie' for our last challenge and we've had some wonderful Girlie cards. Pop over to OLL challenges (link in sidebar) to see if you been chosen for her Top Three and remember there's always a prize for the Top Spot!

Here is my inspiration for you.

The image is from Ooh La La's 'Everyday Occassions' CD. there are some fab images on this disc. I began with A4 card stock folded landscape orientation. Then covered it with the background paper from the CD. I chose two matching background papers and placed one along the top edge. Then I added the toppers and the greetings.....also from the CD. I had some butterfly charms on a string so I placed these along the top edge to add a bit of sparkle. Finally three matching gems were placed down the side. Eh Voila!! Finished!

I hope you'll join in this challenge and I look forward to visiting your blogs soon.
Have a crafty week!

We have the winners post up on Unstampabelles!!! Wow was this one difficult to choose the Top Three by the DTs? We had an unbelievable amount of yummy entries. Thank you everyone for taking part and over you pop to see if the winner is YOU!!! ( link in sidebar)

More inspiration for you for this months challenge and it's changing seasons. Now it doesn't have to be the traditional seasons it could be sporting seasons or rights of passage....milestones in a persons life like retirement. There's an added twist as usual and this time it's..... .Make it Male.

I decided to showcase a christening card I made for a friend's Grandson.

The image and background are from CUP and I added the two sentiments down the side panel.

There's always a lovely prize from our dear leader Susan. Look at what you might win this time!

It's a pretty embossing folder and some cute die cuts.

I hope you have a crafty week and I look forward to visiting your blogs real soon. Thank you for supporting this challenge and your comments are always much appreciated.

'Shades of Autumn'

Wow I can't believe we are into September already !!! Those Autumn nights and Autumnal days will be along before we know it!! Which seems appropriate for our new challenge at CD Sunday chosen by Pauline 'Shades of Autumn'. Jocelyn's theme last time was 'Hot Hot Hot!. We had some great entries and she'll have her winner chosen and announced in two weeks.

My inspiration for you comes from another image on the Paula Oakley CD by Ooh La La. This is a great 'go to' CD if you want to get your mojo going. There are some inspirational images on this CD and I always find just what I'm looking for on there when I browse.

I started with orange card stock from Lidls....where else when you live in Paphos!! They only place that sells anything crafty!! I used two different background papers and two images of this delightful pussy printed from the CD. (Isn't he/she/ cute!) I found some shiny Autumn leaves in my stash and added three of those to finish the card. I have left the sentiment off as I'm not sure is this will be a birthday card or notelet yet.

Don't forget to pop over to CD Sunday (link in sidebar) for more inspiration from the team.
I hope you have a great week crafting and I look forward to visiting you soon.

'Changing Seasons' with Unstampabelles.

Another challenge at Unstampabelles and that means another month has flown by!! Wow what a lot of yummy entries we had last time and the team had great fun visiting your blogs and of course choosing their favourite. Which wasn't an easy task!!

With thoughts of a new season beginning.....Autumn here in Cyprus and Spring in Tasmania. Susan has asked the team to think about the many seasons we have throughout the year no matter where we are.

I decided to go with the Golfing season. A golf  season  depends on the climate but for a true golfer the season never ends!!

I created an easel card choosing an Ode to Golfing as my starting point.

I chosen a matching blue card stock for the base and the added a white matt that I had run through the Bug using the dotty embossing folder. I thought these looked like the dimples you have on golf balls. The stopper along the bottom is the same with the addition of two buttons that look like cuff links. I then double mounted 'Dad' and added this.

This is only my thoughts on the challenge but if you pop over to Unstampabelles (link in sidebar) there are many other inspirations for you. Seasons could be  Rights of Passage, Weather seasons, sporting seasons such as fishing, hunting etc. I'm sure you'll have a buzz of ideas so off you go!! Don't forget as usual there's a fab prize on offer donated by our lovely leader Susan.

This time it's a great embossing folder and some Sea Breeze dies. Now who wouldn't want a chance of winning those!!
Have a great week and I'll be visiting you soon.
