It's a new year at Unstampables!!

I can't believe that a month has passed by of 2016 and we are into February already!! It's time to begin the challenges at Unstampabelles after having a lovely break.

What could be more appropriate for the New Year than looking forward and also reflecting on times past. This is your challenge ' Looking Forward. Looking Backward' The twist is to add a window or a mirror.

Susan has once again been very generous with the prize on offer. This time it's two very useful dies.

                                                                  Aren't they great!!!

This is my inspiration for you.

I chose a 'Wedding'. A young couple looking forward to their new life together.

The card is square and I have added DP and an image from my stash. The bouquet is decoupaged. I also added pink pearls to the corners. Finally a greeting from my stash added at the bottom, 'To the Bride and Groom'.

You can see a church window behind the couple, so this is my added twist.

I hope you enjoy this challenge. There is lots of inspiration for you on the challenge blog (link in sidebar) So why not grab a cuppa and pop over to be inspired.

I look forward to seeing your creations and don't forget the rule NOT to use stamp or digis. This is UNstampabelles after all!! There's a yummy prize on offer too!!!

Have a crafty week and enjoy!!

'Seasons' at CD Sunday

Good morning from a rainy Cyprus but not as wet as the UK ....yet!!!

Todays challenge at CD Sunday is 'Seasons' chosen by Jocelyn. I think this is a great challenge as it can cover the whole spectrum of 'Seasons' no matter which hemisphere you live in.

I know it's very hot in Oz and Tasmania at the moment. This brings the added problem of forest fires. So take care you folk who are suffering the blistering heat. Whilst  UK people are needing wellies and raincoats .....not to mention boats for those who have suffered from the dreadful floods!!! Take care out there folks whatever the weather.

I've gone with the rainy Season for my DT card. It's a very colourful image to cheer you on a rainy day. It's from the CD 'Forest Friends' Collection 1 by Cupcake Crafting.

The card was made using the Quick card section of the CD. This is great addition on a CD for those cards that are needed in a hurry. I printed it out and then added it to a premade lemon card from my stash. The sentiment is a peel off added to a blank tag. Finally a gold butterfly was added to give it a bit of sparkle!! And Voila!!

Thank you for all those lovely entries to our last challenge 'Wild Flowers'. I'm busy choosing my Top Three  but you'll have to wait til  the next challenge to find out if you're a winner of my wee gift. Meanwhile if you pop over to  CD Sunday now, the Top Three post for 'Ring in the New Year' has been chosen by Carol. So what are you waiting for ....grab a cuppa and visit CD Sunday (link in sidebar)

I look forward to visiting you and Have Fun!!!

#196 'In the Country'

This fortnight at Ooh La La Janice has chosen the theme 'In the Country' . So plenty of scope there to get your creative mojo going!!
I used the 'Carnival of Colour' CD to inspire me. I have made a gift bag and six notelets using the Yorkshire countryside images from this CD.

I had some yellow aperture cards in my stash from eons ago. The colour is not one I use regularly but I felt it matched the scenes perfectly and it was bright and cheery for these current gloomy Winter days. You can see I'm longing for a bit of yellow sunshine here!!

For the bag I used some card stock with birds on a blue background, which I got from Lidls a while ago. Then trimmed it, to match the cards, with yellow card stock. The design for the bag came from You Tube. There are many on there, just search as I no longer have the link, sorry. I decided not to add any words to the cards as I felt the recipient of the gift could use them for any occasion and adding a greeting would limit this. Not sure now whether they are too plain.

If you need more inspiration please pop over to Ooh La La (link in sidebar) to see what the rest of the team have created.....you won't be disappointed.  The results of the 'Girlie' challenge is there too. So off you go and see if you were in the Top Three.

Have a crafty week and keep warm on these chilly days!!

'Wild Flowers' at CD Sunday

Good morning crafters. Well I'm blogging from a wet and miserable Cyprus. After such a mild December we find that Winter is slowly creeping in with days of constant rain with the odd sunny day thrown in to keep us happy....well me happy as I don't do cold!!

Last time at CD Sunday Carol asked us to 'Ring in the New Year'. We had some great designs sent in by you. What clever crafters we have entering our challenges.  She's very busy choosing her top three so don't forget to pop over to see if it's you.

It is my turn to choose the theme at CD Sunday this fortnight and I thought we could brighten up our days with some  'Wildflowers'  and I remember fondly our holiday in France earlier this year when we saw fields and fields of sunflowers and hollyhocks growing wild everywhere. A wonderful array of colour across the countryside. It really brought a smile to my face.

Lots of colour brought to an old stone wall with wildflowers in a small village in France.

Here is my inspiration for you.

The main card is made into an easel card. I covered it with DP from Ooh La La. The image was also from 'Carnival of Colour' from Ooh La La. I placed a bow ribbon strip down the side and continued it on to the stopper base. This was also from the CD. With the left over ribbon strip I made a banner and added a Happy Birthday greeting from my stash. The stopper base was covered card in the same DP and raised up with 3D pads to give it height. Finally I added gems to the bow and on the ribbon strip.

For more fab designs please pop over to CD Sunday (link in sidebar)  and see what the rest of the design team have created for you to enjoy. You won't be disappointed. I will sending the winner of my choice a little prize of craft goodies. So something to look forward to in the post now that the Christmas cards have finally stopped arriving.

Happy New Year

Happy New year crafters. I am starting off my inspiration for you with a challenge from Ooh La La.
An easy peasy one to get your mojo working again for 2016 'Girly' chosen by the lovely Deborah.

In the true tradition of the festive season, using left overs, to create yummy recipes I'm showing how I created a card using left overs or bits and pieces!!

This is my inspiration for you.

I started with a square based card in cream and scalloped the edges with fancy scissors. Down the fold I created a braided edge. Video on You Tube link braided/lattice edged.

I embossed the opening edge with a flower border folder.

The topper sentiment is from OLL 'Say it with words'. The additional bow to the spray of embossed flowers is from the Paula Oakley OLL CD. Most of the CDs have these pretty bows on. This was the perfect colour for my card.

Inside the card I added a left over piece of background paper from OLL ' Fleur D'Imagination' to show through the braiding.

Then of course I had to make it more 'girly' with the addition of gems. These were placed down the braided edge and on the flowers and the bows.

I hope you like this simple card with a few ideas for you to use left overs/snippets.

Don't forget to pop over to Ooh La La challenge blog (link in side bar) to see what the rest of the design have created to inspire you. There are some fab 'Girly' cards to get your mojo working again!! Get creating!!

I hope you all have a happy, healthy 2016 and have lots of fun crafting.

I'll be back later this month with more inspiration for you and links to some other fab challenges to inspire you!!
